Welcome to my home in cyberspace - a place which has undergone remodelling in various fits and starts over many years. I consider myself to be an interesting personality (whoever doesn't should do some self-evaluation). and I'm very curious about the world.

I regard this site as a venue for my myriad interests, whether academic or otherwise. I'm a big futbol fan (yes I use the Spanish spelling since I reside in North America) and Liverpool of the EPL is my favorite club. You see I can't quite understand why a series between the RedSox and NY Yankees is the World Series, but I can quite understand how France vs Italy can be a World Cup Final. Such logical reasoning all stems from my immigrant background I guess. Anyhow God bless America for allowing one the freedom of speech so that I can freely express such subversive views on this forum.

I'm a techie by profession, with a focus on the Finance industry - I also love mathematics and hence I like the quant stuff assoc. with Financial Engineering.

I try as best as possible to be a person of faith and I consider myself an evangelical - though not of the conservative stripe. Think more Tony Campolo than Pat Robertson. I am not a fundamentalist as I believe global poverty is a greater problem than whether one can burn the flag or the merits of abortion. You see my problem with conservatives is that it seems their Jesus only cares about who's sleeping with whom, whether a woman has an abortion or not, or how many tax cuts can be enacted. But when I read the good book I come across the story of the prostitute whose sins were forgiven by Jesus, the downtrodden people who he cared about, and about rendering unto Caesar what was his and God what was God's. It says nothing about cutting taxes. .
